I was on Instagram one day when I came across nut free chocolate sunflower spread. What?! I had to try it out for myself.
When I looked at the brand’s website, I also came across double chocolate mocha seed bars and double chocolate mocha “seed’nola”. Anyone who knows me knows that I love chocolate, so I got these items to do a review for nallergy.

Chocolate Sunflower Spread

The first thing that I tried was 88 Acres’ dark chocolate sunflower seed butter. I was imagining this would be like a nut free Nutella. We tried this both by itself, on nut free crepes, and on strawberries.
This was not what I was expecting at all. If you try this, don’t expect it to taste like Nutella. Or even chocolate. To be honest, I couldn’t taste any chocolate. This tasted like a slightly sweeter version of Sunbutter. If you like Sunbutter, this is for you. However, I wanted a more chocolate taste like the name suggests, so this is a pass for me.
Seed Bars

The next things I’m trying are the Seed Bars. I got a variety pack of all five flavors. The flavors are:
- Chocolate Mocha
- Chocolate Sea Salt
- Triple Berry Blend
- Cinnamon and Oats
- Ginger Apple
I’m going to be reviewing them individually below.
Chocolate Mocha

88 Acres’ Chocolate Mocha bar was definitely my favorite. It actually tasted like chocolate! I didn’t taste the coffee, but that’s good for me because I actually don’t like coffee. It was a little bit salty, but it was not overpowering-ly (if that’s a word) salty. Overall, I would eat this one again if someone offered it to me.
Chocolate Sea Salt

To be completely honest, I forgot what this bar tasted like. I do remember that this was my second favorite of the bars in the Seed Bar box, right after the chocolate mocha bar.
Triple Berry Blend

I’m not a big fan of this one, but it’s not bad. You can taste the berries in this one, but at the same time the seed taste in some of these bars is overpowering the other flavors.
Cinnamon and Oats

The Cinnamon and Oats bar is my least favorite. It seems to have no flavor except for the seeds and a hint of cinnamon. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this bar.
Ginger Apple

The Ginger Apple bar is something I would eat if I had to, but I wouldn’t choose to eat it. It has dried apples and raisins in it, and it also has some pumpkin spice flavor. My mom is the one who ate this one, and she said that the texture is good, but the flavor needs a little work. This is what I would say about all the Seed Bars.
Overall, I’m not a big fan of the Seed Bars. They’re not terrible, but I wouldn’t buy them again. The seed flavor is overpowering in some of them, and some of the flavors are very bland. However, these bars are very filling and easy to pack for on the go. If you wanted to try these, get the Chocolate Mocha flavor. I would pass on these, though.
Chocolate Sea Salt Seed’nola

Surprisingly, the Seed’nola was very crumbly. It did taste like chocolate sea salt. It also had a hint of sunflower seed butter, which is weird because the only sunflower thing listed on the ingredients was sunflower seeds (which were also in the seed bars) and sunflower seed oil, which was probably where the taste was coming from.
The Seed’nola is fairly good, but again, I wouldn’t buy it a second time or go out of my way to try it.
If you like healthy-tasting snacks, 88 Acres is for you. Unfortunately, that was not what I was expecting of 88 Acres, so I would not recommend 88 Acres.
I am honestly surprised with 88 Acres. Most of the reviews on the Spokin app for 88 Acres’s products are positive, so I was definitely expecting better from this brand. Is it the best? No. But is it the worst? Definitely not. If I was offered this for free, I would gladly take it. But I wouldn’t buy it again, because there are better granolas and granola bars out there that are top 8 free as well.
